From Blogging to Copywriting

Hi, I’m Jenna!

This is Me

I grew up in a large Italian-American family so cooking and baking was a big part of my life. When I would go to my aunt’s house on the weekend, she would be casually baking a cake for a friend’s wedding. When I would go to my Nonna’s house for Sunday dinner, she would be hand-making the pasta and meatballs. The smell of her kitchen still lingers in my nose decades later from when she made her famous Christmas cookies. It was what I knew and loved. And when I got married, I knew I wanted to keep those traditions alive. I had to learn how to bring those skills into my own kitchen.

I had learned several techniques for my kitchen and was pretty happy with myself. But it wasn't until my son was born, however, that I became obsessed with baking, especially pies. Everyone I knew was making cakes, cupcakes, or cookies but no one was baking pies. It took me over a year to get my pie crust just right. I perfected my skill, and I quickly earned the nickname, “The Pie Lady” amongst friends and family. That passion for baking eventually led me to creating a food blog called “Everything Emerson”.

I had always enjoyed writing, but never imagined turning it into a career. When I was out of work with my newborn daughter, I learned about blogging and that anyone can blog about any topic. There is an audience for just about any topic out there. My other passion was food, so it was only natural that I blog about that. I truly enjoyed writing about food! I struggled with coming up with recipes to try and new content. Eventually, I made the decision to shut down my blog, but I learned a lot from it, specifically that I love to write about food. I knew I had to search for a ways to continue writing.

That's when I discovered copywriting.

Once I discovered copywriting, I knew what I was meant to do. I wanted to learn all I could about copywriting, but I didn’t want to cut corners. I needed to make sure I was learning from the best source, and from someone with exceptional experience. That’s why I enrolled in Write Your Way to Freedom. I knew I could get the knowledge I needed while also getting the support I craved. Since then, I have been honing my craft and sharpening my tools just for you.
